It's been a long time since I updated this site. I've actually got a new job that I'm quite busy with, one that I really like and find very meaningful. I'll probably talk about it later when I have a chance. I still love translating, although I'm not a professional, I've always loved the feeling of being able to let people know what the lyrics are about. But this time I have a new try, I've done a podcast translation!

I have always listened to K-Pop and I have a few groups that I really like. However, I have never formally learned Korean, so I have not had the opportunity to do Korean translations. It just so happens that one of my favorite Korean groups, NU'EST, has recently disbanded and its members are all moving on to new fields. One of the members, Aaron, started a podcast about K-Pop in English, and after listening to the first episode, I realized that the podcast was self-run, so I thought, why not doing a subtitle translation while I was still on vacation? So, I made a Chinese translation and sent it to them. But I actually considered using traditional Chinese characters, but considering the fact that there are more people using simplified Chinese characters than traditional Chinese characters in Southeast Asia and other parts of the world, I used simplified Chinese characters, not really a political consideration.

Moreover, I also took into account that the language habit of simplified Chinese character users, which is a little different from those of traditional Chinese characters. But it was a very interesting experience, and I think it was a very meaningful thing to do, not only because it was fun, but also because I wanted to offer a little help to the artist that I admire when they start off their new journey.

If you happen to be interested in K-Pop, probably you can listen to the Korean Cowboys Podcast every Friday and it's a good chance to practice listening in English!
